Stage 1
Assessment Type 4: Investigation
The Japanese (continuers) investigation is assessed by the school.
Students undertake an investigation demonstrating research and personal reflection on a cultural or social aspect or issue of a topic or subtopic associated with ‘The Japanese-speaking Communities’ or ‘The Changing World’ themes. The aspect or issue for research may be chosen by negotiation with, or at the direction of, the teacher. Students should complete both assessments for the investigation:
- an oral or written or multimodal response in Japanese (e.g. a report, article, blog, presentation, talk, podcast, or website)
- a reflective response in English.
Student work should be their own. See Supervision and verification of student work.
