Special Provisions
The Special Provisions in Curriculum and Assessment Policy is a critical strategy that allows alternative arrangements to students who demonstrate that their capacity to participate in and/or access the requirements of an assessment requirement is affected significantly by illness, impairment, or personal circumstances.
Special provisions are available to eligible students for both school assessment (Stage 1 and Stage 2) and external assessment (Stage 2) of the SACE. The SACE Board determines eligibility and approves special provisions for Stage 2 externally assessed tasks only (30% of the Stage 2 assessment), which includes final written examinations, language oral examinations, music, drama, and dance performances, or investigations.
