This subject enables students to undertake the study of a target language that is not currently available through locally assessed languages or the Collaborative Curriculum and Assessment Framework for Languages (CCAFL) suite of languages.

They develop and apply linguistic and intercultural knowledge, understanding, and skills to interact and communicate appropriately and effectively in the language of study in a variety of contexts for a range of purposes and audiences.

Students develop and extend their ability to communicate across cultural boundaries.
